Exposing GMO & Pesticide Corporate Lobbyists, Nov 28

The Quebec CBAN member group invites you to join an in-person event on Thursday November 28 at Parliament Hill in Ottawa聽to launch a map of the pesticide and GMO lobby groups and their influence over government.
For over 10 years, Vigilance OGM has been working with CBAN to expose the influence of biotechnology and agrochemical corporations on our agricultural policies and regulation. The sole aim of these companies is to sell ever more GMOs and pesticides – at the expense of our health and the environment. Vigilance OGM has put together a detailed map of these lobbyists, revealing their techniques and close links with our governments. We invite you to the public unveiling of the map, followed by a thematic guided tour of the Parliament Hill area.

Program:
10:00 AM: Press conference & presentation of the map (English & French)
11:00 AM: Guided tour to the CropLife & co. office. (mainly in French)
Dress Code:聽Vigilance OGM invites participants to dress in a 鈥渓obbyist鈥� costume (for example: suit, with small briefcase…). Please note that this event is outside.
Global Insights and Action on GE Trees
The Canadian Biotechnology Action Network (CBAN) is pleased to announce “Global Insights and Action on GE Trees” on Sunday, December 1 from 2:00-3:00 EST. Join us to hear updates on genetically engineered (GE or genetically modified) trees from Lucy Sharratt, CBAN鈥檚 Coordinator, and Anne Petermann, Executive Director of 聽(US). They will provide information and insights into the next steps we can take to protect communities and the world鈥檚 forests from the threat of genetic engineering and take your questions.
Lucy and Anne play a central role in the 聽and both recently attended an industry science conference on GE trees. In 2023, Lucy and Anne participated in a 聽and Anne has just returned from Chile where she was part of a . They will also share updates from , and new information on the attempts to commercially release the GE American chestnut.
